Groups and Workshops

Birch Tree Psychology runs various groups and workshops to meet the needs of our community. Group therapy can be a useful adjective treatment to expedite improvement in mood and coping. Additionally, workshops provide opportunities to master new skills that increase coping in a relaxed group setting. Birch Tree Psychology provides evidence based groups and workshops, such as, Mindfulness for Stress Reduction Workshop, Social Anxiety Group, Social Skills Group, Parenting Groups, and Self-Development Groups. Groups usually run 8 to 10 weeks and meet for 1 hour each week.

Course Overview:

Meets weekly on Friday from 7:00-8:00 PM

Starting October 25-  Ending December 14 (break on Thanksgiving week)


Week 1  10/25/19 - Autopilot-mode: mindful or mind-full?

Week 2  11/01/19 - Living in our heads 

Week 3  11/08/19 - Gathering the Scattered Mind

Week 4  11/15/19 - Recognizing aversion 

Week 5  11/22/19 - Allowing/Letting be

Week 6  12/06/19-  Thoughts are not facts

Week 7  12/07/19-  Taking better care of yourself  

Week 8  12/14/19-  Maintaining and new learning


Requirements:

-Ages 18 years or older

-Sign up through Birch Tree Psychology by deadline of 10/11/19


Costs: $320  total, must purchase all classes prior to starting


Suggested materials:

-pillow/meditation cushion/ back support

-yoga mat 

-comfortable clothing/layers

-water bottle
