Many children and teens struggle with their behavior. This may be caused by ADHD or can be caused by neurological differences in some children that make it more difficult to manage their behavior. It is important to remember that children are not trying to be difficult but instead have lagging skills that interfere with their ability to be compliant. At Birch Tree Psychology, we work with parents and children to create behavior change. We help parents learn the most effective ways to manage their children’s behavior and help children to learn the skills that will help them to regulate their own behavior. Some children with behavioral issues also struggle to regulate their emotions effectively. Our therapists will integrate emotional regulation skills into treatment when needed.
